What costs does the insurance cover?
Compulsory health insurance does not cover the costs of orthodontic treatment. With additional insurance for misaligned teeth, you can have part of the treatment costs reimbursed.
As a parent, you should ideally take out additional insurance before your child turns 4. As soon as a tooth or jaw misalignment has already been confirmed, the health insurance company can refuse to cover the costs. We advise against changing insurance during treatment.
If the jaw is severely misaligned, the costs will be covered by disability insurance.
